The EDM Spectrum is the brainchild of Cid-X and heykiddego, two like-minded individuals who have a passionate love for electronic music. The first incarnation of the EDM Spectrum began as a group in Myspace, when Cid-X became, well...let's just say he was a bit turned-off (or turned-out, as the case may be) by another group in which he was a member. Heykiddego was in the same group and followed Cid to the new group, and helped to develop it into a more interesting place to visit.

The name EDM Spectrum has it's beginnings in an AIM chat between heykiddego and Cid-X. Heykiddego made a reference to music covering the whole spectrum of EDM. Cid-X liked the term spectrum, and named his new group The EDM Spectrum.

Recently, heykiddego had the idea of expanding the existing Myspace EDM Spectrum. He wanted to have a bulletin board with forums that had more features (multiple administrators, ability to grant moderator privileges, polling capabilities, more control over the moderation of the forums, and the ability to grant custom titles to the members, to name a few. He also had the idea to create a parallel website to the forums. This was the beginning of the new EDM Spectrum you are now visiting. The implementation of the new and improved EDM Spectrum is implemented by heykiddego, and the ideas for what to do with it come from both Cid-X and heykiddego.After a week or two, Ashley (aka Ashwee0808) showed herself to be a fantastic friend to the site, and Cid-X and heykiddego decided to make her a part of the team. She is very excited about the site, and will be tirelessly working side by side with us to make this site a favorite among EDM lovers across the world!

We want the EDM Spectrum to be a place where long-time lovers of elecronic music and new-comers can both come to find new sounds, share information, and find resources about this music, and even find new and interesting LEGAL music to download and enjoy. We want this to be a place of learning, sharing, expression, enjoyment, and enlightenment.

The doors to The EDM Spectrum opened on January 1, 2006. We plan to continue to expand this site over time to keep making it more and more interesting, so keep coming back to find out what's new.

If you enjoy this site, then it is as much yours as ours, and we want to hear from you! If you have ideas, let us know. If you have complaints, tell us about those too. If you create elecronic music, and want to showcase it here, just ask us. We want this to be an open community that grows with it's members' likes and needs.
