Anthony Paul has been an inspiration to many a DJ with not just his skills behind the decks but with his energy and his love for the music. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with when he's behind the decks, playing phenomenal progressive and trance and even occasionally rocking the progressive sound on 3 turntables. In 2002 he added a drum machine which he used throughout the year. Whether spinning progressive house or

trance, his unique style is almost unmatched, being able to mesmerize you with spacey sounds and move you with his energetic beats. He has recently started to venture more to the funkier side of progressive house as well. Ninevolt Magazine (located in Virginia) also interviewed him for their electronic music section, which can be found in issue No.113, April 8, 2003. When he's behind the decks, you can feel his energy by just watching him get into his sets and his positive attitude under any circumstance.
Music has always been a part of Anthony's life. As far back as he can remember, Anthony was always listening to music and humming his own songs to himself. It wasn't till he was about 11 years old that he sat down and started to follow the songs on beat as they played on the radio. This was how he learned about measures, though he did not know they were measures at the time. When he was in fifth grade, his music teacher had the class take a music test. It was not a test using instruments though, it was a hearing test. She would play different chords and rhythms on her keyboard and the students had to put these notes where they belonged on a composition sheet. Anthony thought nothing of it at the time; he just took the test and got it over with.
A few weeks later, the music teacher came to his class and asked him to come see her for a few minutes. Thinking he was in trouble, Anthony left the classroom quietly with his head down. Once he was outside the classroom, she began to tell him that of all the fifth graders in the school, Anthony was the only student to score a perfect 100% on the musical note test. He wouldn't grasp the art of spinning for many years, and he definitely was not thinking about being a musician at all either when he was eleven, so he just took in what she said and he went on with his day like nothing special ever happened. Now he often thinks about the music teacher and smiles. "She realized I had a gift, it just took me years to realize it too." Anthony said with a smile.
Anthony Paul has spun at parties up and down the east coast including such states/cities as South Carolina, North Carolina, Baltimore, New England, Washington DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
Anthony Paul had performed at around 100 parties in 2002 and had four monthly residencies also. He had also thrown a successful weekly known as Pulse, in Virginia Beach that lasted for 9 months. Around this time he started producing progressive house and found that he wasn't spending enough time producing so he passed his weekly event to another company so that it wouldn't interfere with his production time.
In mid 2005 he spun at a house party called "Club 641" which was thrown by friends of his who just wanted to have some fun one night. This turned into an every Saturday night thing and more and more people came to each one. After a few months there were so many people that they just couldn't do Club 641 at a house anymore. That's when they moved to Premiere (Granby Theater) in Norfolk, VA.
The first event took place the first Friday of December 2005 and Premiere hit max capacity. The second, February of 2006, hit max capacity and had a line that stretched a block down the road. The party is now a monthly (first Friday of every month) and is called Euronight, one of the biggest parties to hit Hampton Roads in years. Each party is also themed toward a different country and the hundreds of patrons that attend Euronight are some of the happiest people in the world by the end of the night.
Anthony Paul is one of 2 resident DJs and also a partial promoter for Euronight along with his good friends Vitali Servutas (Resident DJ/Promoter) and Lukasz Sosniak (Promoter). So if you're a fan of trance or progressive house you don't want to miss out on this talented musician.
