MBS (matthew benjamin smith), born in leicester 29/01/1985, has been producing music since 1998. mostly producing trance music however has a talent for producing many different genres of music ranging right from rock music all the way through to drum n bass. at the age of 5 MBS bought his first acoustic guitar. two years following that he was also learning how to play the keyboard. MBS began listening to grunge and rock music with his biggest influences being greenday, nirvana and iron maiden.he first started producing his own original music using just one software called fruityloops. he would create his ideas on the keyboard and then produce his ideas onto fruityloops. in 1999 he began playing the bass guitar for a band called ''the frozen pigeonz'', the band then later split apart that year without even one complete song. he then moved on to play the bass in anouther band called ''low budget''. the band lasted for a few month after being successful in a few highschool gigs and then later ended. by the end of 1999 MBS was first listening to trance music with huge influences coming from artists such as Paul Van Dyke, Faithless and Tiesto. after school MBS completed a BTEC 1st diploma in performing arts at leicester college. he then went on to do fulltime work to support himself and produced music as a hobbie in his spare time. by 2005 MBS realised that his talent for music was constantly improving and it was time to concentrate on getting into the music industry. he then went onto to complete the stage 2 creative music producer course at leicester college whilst working part time as a bar man to support himself. currently MBS is using software such as, reason, logic pro, garageband, cubase, recycle and also using a roland jp-8000 synthesizer. looking to go into higher education MBS begins his stage 3 creative music producer course at leicester college september 06. MBS has now produced 3 tracks for the Edingborough festival which were played out live to thousands of people. MBS is also apart of the EDM spectrum showcase(www.edmspectrum.com). he is currentley working with a friend producing some rock music and working on his first album and learning more about art work and video for his talented music. in his spare time when he's not practising on his music or working on it, and when he's not at college or work.... MBS enjoys being out socialising with others, having a few drinks and a good time. he enjoys playing pool and is part of the generous britain pool team who are currently doing extremely well in the thurmaston pool league. he enjoys watching comedy,horror and action films. some of his favorites being: old school, mall rats, scarface, nightmare on elm streets, child plays and pirates of the caribean. quite often MBS enjoys to go for a long jog or a good run at early morning to help clear his mind and relieve stress and also for the exercise. thank you for taking the time to visit MBS's space.
