Formed in 2004 by Craig Hammond when on a trip to New York - Craig was sucked into the now very popular new romantic scene and was a regular visitor to the hip cross dressing beautiful people parties.

Craig has previously fronted bands like SIR VERE and post industrial rock outfit GAUGE, and his chosen right hand man in this project is Spatts, the founding member of Hip Hop act Criminal Minds, and also of Environmental Science, a breakbeat act who were signed to Skint records.

Early influences of the band include Bowie, Idol, Iggy, Adam Ant, Numan & Marc Almond, although they have now developed their own unique blend of all of the above.

The Shadow Puppets maybe the last in a generation of hybrid dance acts. Everybody from STEREO MC`s to THE PRODIGY and all that came before have experimented with the dance vs rock combo, with extreme highs & lows.. from the giddy heights of FIRESTARTER to the UNIQUE FREAK of the DUB PISTOLS.

The Shadow Puppets are the conclusion. The result. Able to rock the party as an electrifying dj combo, DA PUPPETEERS or rock the stage as THE SHADOW PUPPETS they can throw down anywhere.

The dynamic energy in their music and live performances has lead to a real buzz in the music industry. The idea was to seamlessly bring all things rock into the dance arena, putting colour and style back into the music scene.

The Shadow Puppets have done remix work for Prodigy (Poison), Shamen (Heal) and Megadeth, among others. Craig also did work with The Chemical Brothers at the Kentra gig.

Forthcoming Album


Over the past 12 months the Shadow Puppets have been working with some of the most innovative & experienced beats and breaks producers in the UK to galvanise all of the above. They have now produced an exciting album with Cis Recordings, 'This is my life'. A reflection of all things twisted in life, and a true journey of life's ups and downs, with its tongue always firmly in the side of the mouth.

With a number of compositions, including an excellent cover of the Adam Ant classic ‘Goody 2 Shoes’, the world awaits to cast judgement. What we see is an explosive frontman that has a distinctive live performance that holds the attention of the crowd, a distinct style of delivery & sonic quality in sound.

A Shadow Puppets short film called Tempodiathmine 8:15 is also due for release. This features Craig Hammond's exciting acting debut as an assassin in the future, who faces conflict from his flashbacks to a distant past – set to the electrifying soundtrack of The Shadow Puppets.
