Femmes Fatales is...
A villainous woman who uses the power of her sexuality in order to ensnare
the hapless hero. The phrase is French for "fatal woman." In music circles,
Femmes Fatales now refers to the first ever compilation of its kind honoring
the burgeoning presence of women behind the turntables and on the mics.
This collection showcases 12 original tracks by a dozen of the brightest up
and coming female DJs, producers and vocalists. Styles range from
energetic trance to progressive house to circuit with a 'lil drum n' bass
thrown in for good measure.
This supremely evolved aural platter features the single "100 Stories" by
Andrea Burns alongside original music from Colette, Jes (from Motorcycle),
Jan Johnston, DJ Keri, Dena Carman, Mea, Layla, Angelique, Celeste Lear,
Colleen Kelly & Eve Falcon. It also contains exclusive tracks and remixes
by: Perry O'Neil, Noel Sanger, Burnsie, Interstate and Black Liquid.
Produced by Mike Burns (director of the documentary Peace, Love & Beats
and one half of the group Interstate), Femmes Fatales is fatally infectious!

 Colette |
House music innovator DJ Colette was born in Chicago, and by the age of nine, she began studying classical vocal performance and music at the Windy City institution Lane Tech. In 1993 she began collaborating with Chicago house mainstay Lego, adding vocals to some of his mixes and occasionally to his live sets. While a student at DePaul University, her dorm room music experiments caught the attention of local producers including Mazi, and DJ Sneak and Roy Davis Jr., both of whom sampled her work on their own records beginning with Shroom Network's 1996 effort Moments of Epiphany. The following year she formed the SuperJane crew with felllow distaffs DJ Dayhota and DJ Heather. She untimately began singing over her own live mixing, and in 2000 issued her first DJ Colette disc, In the Sun. In the fall of 2000 she relocated to Los Angeles, signing to the Nettwerk label and issuing the mix CD Our Day the following summer. |
 Dena Carman |
From the hot and sexy shores of South Beach comes Dena Carman, who is currently wrapping up work on her debut album Transcendence. Last spring, her single "Beautiful Liar" entered the Music Choice Top Ten at #6 above Kelly Clarkson and Danni Minogue. "BL" also entered heavy rotation on XM Satellite's BPM station. |
 DJ Keri |
Internationally acclaimed vocal turntablist DJ Keri - a former Ms. Louisiana with Choctaw Indian, Creole and German roots - once again explores the diverse musical genres that form the basis of her truly imaginative repertoire. DJ Angelique |

They began a band and later recruited Italian guitarist Zeb for Indianism, their 1992 debut on Polydor/PLG. the band uses elements of psychedelic pop and Bianca uses her hip-hop influence to create an original sound that was also featured on 1992's Kalifornia soundtrack. Her songs have also been used in the films Reality Bites and Peace Love & Beats. |

Creatively blending together the musical styles of rock, jazz and electronica, Celeste crafts a unique and captivating torrent of sound. |
 Eve Falcon |
LA DJ Eve Falcon is the real deal in the finicky netherworld of progressive house and trance. Eccentric Beats, Groove Radio, D:Fuse (who regularly features her on his XM Radio show) and many others have taken notice and given Eve the airtime she righly deserves. |
 Jan Johnston |
Manchester based Jan Johnston has worked with a who's who in the world of powerhouse trance.
