Xidaping Castle is around 600 years old castle built by Ming dynasty. From far away it looks like sand mountain. It is very good spot for professional or amateur photographs and many of them usually come there to take shots. It is also favorite spot for Chinese film makers. While we were visiting, they were shooting a tv show there. How to get there - If you are travelling from Yuxian city ( 蔚縣）take S342 road till you get to the G109. You will see the castle from the highway. There is another way from the other side - through the village (XIdapingcun- you can find it on GPS)- it will take you through the villages but it is much more better than the road connecting the castle and G109, so if you dont want to walk there, then I recommend the second option.
