EDM Spectrum Mah Jongg

Here's a little game I wrote that I thought you might all enjoy.

If you've never played Mah Jongg Solitaire before jump down to the rules below the game.

You must have the Java Runtime Environment installed to play the game. If the game does not load, you can install the Java Runtime HERE.

The default tile set features some EDM-related artists and labels I'm sure you're all recognize. ;) But feel free to play around with the other tile sets too! More EDM tilesets coming soon!

Finally, have fun!

Rules
How to Play

Starting out, try choosing "New Game-->Simple" from the menus to start out. The object of the game is to remove all of the tiles from the board.

To remove tiles, you must click on 2 free tiles that match. A tile is free if either it's left or it's right side has no tile blocking it. In other words, if the tile can slide out to the left or the right, it is free.

To make the free tiles easier to see, "Options-->Show Free Tiles" from the menus. Thsi will make all of the tiles that are not free darker. The brighter tiles are free tiles.

There are a few special tiles that are an exception to this rule (which represent 4 flowers and the 4 seasons). In each tileset, they are designated by some kind of a color difference. It could be that the background color is different from the rest of the tiles, or it could be that the border is a different color. These tiles will not have ANY matching tiles that have the same exact image. They will match with ANY of the other tiles with that same background color or border color.

There are also a few "hidden" features:

  • Press the "F1" key to reset the game.
  • Press the "F2" key to start a brand new game (with the current layout).
  • Press the "delete" key to "undo" your last move. (Continue pressing the "delete" key to undo more of your previous moves).
