Hi. I'm heykiddego, and I'm a 31-year-old husband and father of one son (with a daughter due in March). I love movies (with a special soft spot for Horror and Sci-Fi movies), books, and music. I listen to nearly all kinds of music except for Country, Rap, Hip-Hop, and the cheesy Britney Spears pop crap. But I have a particular
...
love for electronic music, in nearly all of it's forms. I'm less into House, Jungle, and DnB, but do still venture into that territory from time to time.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California San Diego, but I now work as a software engineer, writing programs mostly in Java. I do all of the technical work for the website (design, imagery, layout, and the coding).
One of the things I like to do in spare time is to create tileable images from photographs using reflection techniques. While anyone with a basic understanding of image editing can do this, I think it takes a particular eye for finding the right portions of an image to use, and the right planes of reflection to get the best results. When you get things just right, you can create some very unusual and interesting results. The most fascinating thing about this to me is the kind of unreal-looking images you can create from real-life images. If you're interesting in seeing some examples, just go here. Just don't judge the layout and design of those webpages too harshly, as I just threw them together in about 2 hours. :) If you're interesting in using any of these images, just ask me first by emailing me at heykiddego@edmspectrum.com. Some of the images used were photographs taken by myself, but some were not.
I hope to create a really fun site in The EDM Spectrum, where people can find new music, undiscovered talent, talk about their musical passions, find links to resources about electronic music, and just hang out and enjoy each other's company. I'd also like to have lots of original music that you can stream to sample, and even music that you can legally download. If you create electronic music, and would like to be a Showcase Artist on this site, just fill out our Showcase Application Form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible...we'd love to have you here. If you have ideas, suggestions, gripes, or any other comments about the site, please feel free to let me know by using our Feedback Form. More Less
